My wife and I applied for the adoption of a child at your agency in 1962-1963. We had been married almost 10 years. After several months of investigating and questioning, we were told that a baby boy was available, My wife needed to have a physical exam to complete the process. To our total surprise and amazement, she was pregnant. You had told us in the beginning that you would not place a child in a home that could bear children. We pleaded but you were firm on your rule. Our son is 55 years old now and we had a daughter later who is 51. We have always felt a sense of loss over the baby boy we did not get but we understood your reasoning. All of your personnel were courteous and respectful at all times. We have always remembered our experience with fondness. My wife passed away last month three days before her 86th birthday and four days before our 67th anniversary. With love, Jimmie
