Currently there are thousands of children in Los Angeles County being served by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) who cannot safely live with their own families due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. These children need to be with a safe, stable, and loving family sometimes temporarily and sometimes permanently. The mission of the Adoption and Permanency Resources Division is to recruit, study, prepare and support foster and adoptive families who can provide healthy, stable, loving temporary and permanent homes to children that can not safely live with their birth parents. We welcome and need all capable families – regardless of age, sex, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, martial or domestic partnership status, physical characteristics, national origin, medical status or disability status – to help us fulfill this mission.
