Choosing Hope Adoptions

Whether you are an expectant parent, birth parent, or adoptive parent, we fully expect and welcome a myriad of questions you have as you walk through your journey. Never hesitate to call, text or email us with whatever questions you might have.

STEP 1: PRE-APPLICATION + APPLICATION This is a two part process that allows us to get to know each other. Our process and policies are laid out in this step. We encourage you to ask a lot of questions during this step of the adoption process. STEP 2: HOME STUDY The home study process is our official way of legally approving you to adopt. We will collect a lot of information about you and your family during this time. An Adoption Assessor, LSW will visit you 2-4 times during the home study process. The Home Study typically takes two to six months to finish. STEP 3: PROFILE PREPARATION Your profile is a snap shot of you, your family, and your life. It is the first glimpse an expecting mom gets into your life as she considers who she will choose to parent her child. STEP 4: MATCHING When an expecting parent or birth parent chooses you to parent their child we call it “matched.” STEP 5: PLACEMENT + FINALIZATION Placement happens after the birth parent(s) have officially terminated their rights as parents. Choosing Hope then places the child in your home until the adoption is finalized. In Ohio finalization happens 6+ months after placement. STEP 6: FINANCING ADOPTION Choosing Hope Adoptions recognizes that many hopeful adoptive parents pass on their dream to adopt due to the sheer cost of adoption. Choosing Hope Adoptions is a non-profit Christian Agency in Ohio. We fundraise much of our overhead costs to help keep these costs to a minimum. Our costs are about 1/3 the national average.
