Adoption is a beautiful way to build a family and provide a stable, loving home for a child. COBYS Family Services facilitates two kinds of adoption: State-subsidized adoption of foster children through the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) and adoption of infants who are not part of the foster care system. COBYS also offers post-permanency services (sometime referred to as post-adoption services) to support and encourage families after an adoption takes place. COBYS also provides free, confidential birth parent counseling to help those facing unplanned pregnancies decide what is best for them and their unborn child. For birth parents who decide that adoption is the best course, COBYS offers these approved families who are ready to provide a loving home for an infant. For those who decide parenting is the best option, we help identify and develop a network of people and resources to provide support. COBYS also serves as a resource for pastors and other professionals as they assist individuals and families facing an unplanned pregnancy.
